1965 330 GT 2+2
1965 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2
One of the more beautiful Ferrari designs to come from the Italian designer Pinin Farina, this 1965 330 GT 2+2 features a mighty V12 engine. The car was clearly designed for the American market, and its four person seating catered to a wealthy clientele with a thick wallet.
When the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 was introduced in January 1964, the car was largely derided for its four-headlight design, which gave the otherwise sleek and modern coupe a front end with a cat’s-eye countenance. However, the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 was updated during 1965, the biggest noticeable change being a move to a single headlight per side. The front fender vents were changed, too, and a five-speed gearbox replaced the four-speed. Both versions were popular—the quad-lamp version actually outselling its dual-lamp successor—and the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 became the first Ferrari to exceed 1,000 units produced.
In terms of vintage Ferrari’s, the 330 GT 2+2 is probably the least expensive way to get into the snobby 12-cylinder Ferrari club – and we love it.
