Wanted
At The Burt Collection, we are always looking for unique, hard-to-find classic and vintage cars to add to our Collection. We are interested in all kinds of automobiles, from Italian racing cars to American muscle cars. If you have a special car that you’re interested in selling, be sure to contact us and we’ll be delighted to take a look.
What we really love, however, is rare vintage cars. We are currently looking for vintage cars, both restored and non-restored that we can add to our Collection. Any pre-War or vintage car is likely to interest us, so definitely get in touch if you have a unique vintage car. At the moment, the following makes are of particular interest to us:
Delahaye
A classic French automobile, the Delahaye was produced from 1894 until 1954. Delahayes are considered to be one of the most beautiful cars of all time and have a fascinating history involving French patriotism, Nazi Germany and racing victories. The Burt Collection is already proud to own a 1947 Delahaye 135 MS, which we prize as one of the stars of the Collection. We would love to add another example to the Collection.
Delage
Another French motor car, the Delage motor company operated from 1905 to the 1950s. The company was created to assemble engines and bodies from other manufacturers, although this changed and the company developed into a full manufacturing company following several Grand Prix victories. Delage would see victory in a variety of races in the early 1900s including the Grand Prix at LeMans, the Cup Car at Boulogne and the Indianapolis 500 in the US. Delage also created very luxurious, high-end passenger cars after the war; however, this effort was dampened by the economic crisis of 1929. Delage made incredible-looking vehicles, characterized by dramatic curving wheel-arches and imposing grilles.
Talbot-Lago
Talbot-Lago came to exist in the early 1930s out of a marriage between failing British company Sunbeam-Talbot-Darracq which was acquired by Rootes and the Vice President of Sunbeam-Talbot-Darracq, Antony Lago. Talbot-Lago specialized in high-end racing and road cars which were noted for the outlandish style at the time. Some of the design features were so unusual they were even patented. Today, the designs of the Talbot-Lago are absolutely stunning and extremely desirable.
