The Burt Collection is proud to offer this beautiful, one owner, 1970 Mercedes Benz 280SL. With only 57, original miles, this 280SL is rare and very desirable. Further, the factory medium blue color, with a cognac Meb Tex interior, makes this a very rare and striking color combination.
We've had the pleasure of owning many 113 Mercedes Benz Roadster, this may well be the nicest I've ever seen. Talk about a blue chip investment, this Mercedes qualifies as just that. Low mileage, rare color and a matching hardtop.
Mechanically she is 100%. The motor runs perfectly. She starts immediately, idles smoothly and accelerates with a surprising amount of torque. The transmission shifts well, firm - like all 280 SLs, but as designed. The ride is pure Mercedes - and she is very sporting in her approach to curves. The brakes are in perfect condition - and much maintenance (to the tune of $5000 or so) has been done to this car over the last year. New tires, battery, brakes, system flush and more. Receipts are available to the new owner. She is 100% dependable.
This 280SL also wears the factory Air Conditioning. And it works well. The radio works perfectly, and the clock ticks away.
The interior is original (Cognac color) and is in excellent original condition. The wood is in very good original condition throughout - and the steering wheel is free of any cracks or issues. The horn operates quite well. The windows operate as they should - the top operates as designed, as well.
The car comes with the original factory hardtop - and it is in perfect condition.
The Burt Collection is bullish on the the "Pagoda" 113 series SL's. They are handsome, classic and very collectible. I am bullish with these Pagodas and believe and in the adage that if there is a star in the grill - it's a blue chip investment. This one certainly qualifies.
